UBS Reports Strong Third-Quarter 2026 Results Driven by Surging AI Adoption and Robust Wealth Inflows
UBS has reached a significant milestone in its technological transformation, reporting that it now has 608 artificial intelligence use cases in production, marking an 81 percent increase compared to the same period a year earlier. According to the banking giant’s third-quarter 2026 financial results, this rapid acceleration in artificial intelligence deployment is matched by a robust pipeline of future innovations, with more than 1,090 additional applications currently in active development across the organization.
The integration of advanced technological infrastructure is unfolding alongside strong financial performance for the Swiss banking titan. For the third quarter of 2026, UBS reported a net profit of US$2.7 billion and a profit before tax of US$3.6 billion, representing a substantial 27 percent increase year on year. This impressive financial momentum was supported significantly by the bank’s core wealth management operations. Global Wealth Management recorded stellar net new assets totaling US$55.1 billion during the quarter, reflecting continued client trust and strong market positioning.
Sergio P. Ermotti, Group Chief Executive Officer of UBS, highlighted the geographic breadth of this financial growth, noting that the reported figures included particularly strong inflows in both the Asia-Pacific region and the Americas. The bank’s leadership attributes this ongoing success to a dual focus on delivering exceptional client service through sophisticated wealth management strategies while simultaneously modernizing the firm’s technological backbone to secure long-term operational efficiencies.

UBS emphasized that it continues to invest heavily in technology, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, with the explicit goals of improving the overall client experience, strengthening its core digital and physical infrastructure, and sustainably increasing operational efficiency across business lines. Rather than treating artificial intelligence as an isolated experimental project, the bank has integrated it deeply into the daily workflows of thousands of employees, developers, and advisors.
At the core of this strategy, the bank is actively progressing nine large-scale, end-to-end artificial intelligence initiatives designed to transform major operational and client-facing functions. Employee adoption has scaled remarkably, with staff members now running more than 12,700 artificial intelligence personal agents to assist with routine and complex tasks alike. Furthermore, the bank’s technical talent pool is heavily engaged, with more than 18,000 software developers actively utilizing advanced artificial intelligence tools to streamline and accelerate software development lifecycles.
Client-facing advisory teams are also directly benefiting from these technological investments. Over the course of the year to date, the bank’s proprietary STAAT tool has generated more than 30 million distinct insights. These data-driven insights are systematically distributed to financial adviser teams, empowering them to deliver highly personalized, timely, and relevant guidance to clients across the globe.
This comprehensive approach to technological integration has not gone unnoticed by external industry observers. In the 2026 Evident AI Index for financial services, which evaluates the artificial intelligence maturity, transparency, and capabilities of major global institutions, UBS secured a place in the global top ten. Notably, UBS stands out as the only European bank to be listed in this elite top tier of the index, underscoring its leadership position in the European financial technology landscape and validating its multi-year strategy of scaling artificial intelligence responsibly and effectively within a heavily regulated global banking environment.
