UPS has announced that John Morikis will join its Board of Directors right away. Morikis recently retired as the top leader of Sherwin-Williams Company, where he served as Chairman, President, and CEO.

Sherwin-Williams is a major global company that makes and sells paint, coatings, and similar products around the world. Under Morikis’s leadership, the company grew significantly in the paint and coatings industry.

Currently, Morikis also serves as a board member for two other big companies: General Mills, the food manufacturer known for brands like Cheerios and Betty Crocker, and Whirlpool Corporation, the home appliance maker.

His appointment to the UPS board brings valuable experience from leading a major manufacturing and distribution company, which could help UPS with its shipping and logistics business decisions.
