The outage started around 2:45 PM IST and peaked at 3:02 PM. Over 1,100 users reported problems on Downdetector, a website that tracks service outages.

- OpenAI mobile app (7% of complaints)
- Login issues (1% of complaints)
- Sora AI (also affected)
- GPT API (also affected)

Users reported several issues:
- Blank chat screens
- Server error messages
- Getting logged out automatically
- Stuck on loading pages
- Lost conversations and work
- Unable to log back in

The outage hit users worldwide, including:

- ChatGPT Plus subscribers

OpenAI’s Response
OpenAI acknowledged the problem on their status page, saying: “Some users are experiencing elevated error rates and latency across the listed services. We are continuing to investigate this issue.”
However, they haven’t explained what caused the outage yet.

- Don’t keep refreshing the page – it won’t help
- Don’t try logging in repeatedly – this might cause more problems
- Wait for OpenAI to fix it – similar outages usually get resolved within a few hours
