This marked the beginning of his investment strategy of buying undervalued companies with strong fundamentals and holding onto them for the long term.
Over the next several decades, Buffett continued to make savvy investments in a wide range of companies, including American Express, Coca-Cola, and Wells Fargo. He also made a number of large acquisitions, including the purchase of GEICO in 1996 and the acquisition of Dairy Queen in 1998.
